At Inverted Arts we believe in creative collaboration and in the reality that we are stronger together than we are apart! For this reason IA partners with three groups: Partner Organizations, Artist Mentors, Scholarship Students and Small Businesses launched by our scholarship graduates.
Our partner organizations include schools, shelters and nonprofit organizations that have invested in the community and worked hard to build caring and trusting relationships. We identify and build partnerships with these organizations, starting in Minneapolis, the US and Canada, and around the world.
Our Artist Mentors are skilled professionals who choose to invest their lives in disadvantaged youth. They give their time, talents, wisdom and expertise, and they understand that mentoring through creative collaboration is a two-way street as they are also enriched by the students they serve.
Our scholarships are awarded to talented students from partner organizations who have participated in our art programs and are now continuing their creative and academic development at a college level. These four-year scholarships come with the requirement that the recipient serve as an Artist Mentor in annual IA programs.
After our scholarship students graduate, they submit small business proposals. The criteria include strategies for profitability, community development, and establishing local art mentoring programs. Inverted Arts invests in these small businesses for the first five years of development.
