DEAR 2020 Youth Art Contest

If 2020 Were A Person, How Would You Say Goodbye?


Contest Requirements:

Applicant must be a 12-19 year old (or 6th-12th grade) Minnesota resident.

Submit (1) a 3-4 minute video presenting an art piece that is inspired by the question: “If 2020 were a person, how would you say goodbye?” (2) A photo of the youth or youths presenting the piece, and (3) the completion of the form below.

Submission must be sent in by December 20, 2020 11:59 pm CT to be considered.

Art piece may be within any of the following genres:

  1. Short Film (Documentary, Comedy, Drama, etc.)
  2. Music (Instrumental, Vocal, etc.)
  3. Literature (Poetry, Drama, Story, etc.)
  4. Visual & Graphic Arts (Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, etc.)
  5. Performing Arts (Theatre, Dance, Performance)

To be considered, the submission must not be obscene, indecent or profane. We believe that every person is created in the image of God in order to fill the earth with beauty, hope, and meaning. One of the most powerful ways to unleash this creativity is through the arts, which have the ability to bridge culture, class, race, and stereotypes. Art goes straight to the heart.

If the applicant is a group of two or more, all participants must be within the age requirement.

Once submitted, you grant a permanent license for Raygen Samone LLC and Inverted Arts to use the submission publicly.

Submissions will be judged with a possible score of 500 based on the following criteria:

  • Adherence/Appropriateness to Theme
  • Originality
  • Clarity of Expression
  • Entertainment Quality
  • Visual Design
  • Current/Potential Social Impact
  • Level of Detail
  • Inspiration to Others
  • Wow! Factor
  • Memorable

All contestants will receive a participation certificate following the Youth Fest.
