Helping Mathare – Update

Thanks to your generous contributions we recently sent $2,400 USD to provide food for staff and student families for our partner Mathare Community Outreach (MCO) in Nairobi, Kenya. Here’s a letter of appreciation from Rodgers Ade, MCO’s Administrator.

Dear Inverted Arts,

This is to acknowledge and appreciate the funds you extended to us equivalent to Kenya Shillings 225,000. The funds have been spent on two levels. Kenya Shillings 45,000 used to purchase assorted food stuff – maize, beans, rice, and porridge flour – for distribution to parents of our MCO secondary school parents. It targeted 45 parents. Stipends to MCO staff each receiving KSH 2,000 covering a total of 90 staff members, mainly the teachers, support staff and administration. This is to cushion their sufferings as a result of Covid-19 pandemic that has ravaged the whole world. The MCO staff were sent on unpaid leave in April. The parents too will have something to put on the table. Many of them lost their employment due to the pandemic.

On behalf of MCO management, we register our word of appreciation to you for your kind support. It’s our prayer that you will continue to walk with us in this journey of difficult times all over the world.

God bless,

Rodgers Ade

MCO Administrator
