Open House – IA Studios Update

Inverted Arts Open House

Saturday May 17th, 1pm-5pm.

77 13th Ave NE Suite #207

Minneapolis, MN 55413

We’ve moved into our beautiful new 1,600 sq. ft. studio space at 77 13th Ave NE in NE Minneapolis on January 1, 2014. The space is just off Broadway and Marshall in the old Grainbelt Warehouse building and in the heart of the NE Arts District. We are literally surrounded by artists and are so excited about how this space will become an incubator for creativity as our Artist Mentors work with disadvantaged youth to help them discover their creative voices. We envision hosting art exploration programs, workshops, internships, exhibits, screenings, concerts, creating artistic products together and so much more. We have been busy building two sound proof audio/video rooms that are almost completed and we have students form our local partners who are anxious to get in and start dreaming and creating. Artist Mentor Sarah Albinson has already moved in and two other mentors will join us to share the studio/office space. Special thanks to many wonderful volunteers who have worked hard to make it look so great: Sarah, Heather, Lisa, Jeremy and Teresa, Owen, Nora, Finn, Kathy, James, Grace, Travis and Sarah, Andy, Shane and Steve. Thanks also to those wonderful partners who have already donated furniture and other items: Jeff Morlock – desk tables, Jim Corwin and CSI Ergonomics – chairs and shelving brackets, Tom and Jill Tufano and the Paint Pub – office desktops, cubicles and shelves, DeAnne Koppendrayer – chairs and tables.
