Inverted Arts Receives MRAC Grant

Inverted Arts has just received a generous grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council that will fund our first Art Camp at Hope Academy in South Minneapolis. The funds come from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund as appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008. The Inverted Arts Camp at Hope Academy is a collaborative, two-week creative journey for students in grades 6-9 that will inspire and equip them to flip their world upside-down through the arts. Inverted Arts will bring in professional Artist Mentors alongside Hope teachers and volunteers to provide training, tools, and the opportunity for students to create artistic products in one of four artistic disciplines: music, video, visual art and theater and dance. The Inverted Arts Camp will conclude with an Art Showcase event on Friday July 8 at 7 p.m. at First Covenant Church, 810 South 7th Street in Minneapolis.
