Mathare Showcase 2014
On Friday April 18th, the talented Mathare Community Outreach students presented and performed their creative works to an enthusiastic audience of friends, family, and MCO staff. We are so proud of their accomplishments during Art Camp and we encourage them to pursue their creative passions, adding beauty and depth to this world.
One of the definite highlights of the day was a performance by special guest Hellen Mtawali and her band. Hellen is a brilliant and successful vocalist who is a well known celebrity in Kenya as one of the judges on the TV show “Tusker Project Fame.” Hellen had some powerful words of praise for the students and challenged them to continue developing their creative talents. It is fortunate that the students have such a wonderful role model to look up to.
