New Partnership with Exploration HS
We are excited to begin a partnership with Exploration HS here in NE Minneapolis! Exploration is a public charter school in Northeast Minneapolis opening September 2021 with 70 ninth and tenth graders. They believe in co-creating a diverse, equitable school – by, for, and with the community – where students have a voice in their learning and community.
During winter break Exploration HS is inviting prospective students on two-hour visit (masked and socially distant in groups of 5 students max), where they will experience learning as an Exploration High School student: collaborative, hands-on projects that focus on identity and community. They will begin to explore their hopes, strengths, and goals, all while getting a head start on thinking about high school! As part of this visit IA Artist Mentor Joe Davis will be guiding students through daily creativity sessions around spoken word poetry.
