Art Exploration Program at Sojourner Truth Academy
Inverted Arts is pumped to be headed back to parter with the staff and students at Sojourner Truth Academy on Friday afternoons, October-December. We will be offering opportunities for 6th-8th grade students to explore their creativity in video and music production. Artist Mentor Neel Sharma will teach the music production class and will help students explore the realms of hip hop, spoken word, and poetry while learning how to effectively combine their vocals with various loops and beat structures in garage band. At the end of the course students will have created original songs in teams.
Artist Mentor Mark Collier will teach the video production class where students will discover the world of digital video production, styles and techniques, learning about everything from storyboarding to script writing, camera operation to lighting, sound design, special fx and editing. The final project will be an original short film created, shot and edited by the students in imovie. The program will conclude with a Showcase event for staff and students at Sojourner Truth Academy on Friday December 6th.
