Mathare Art Camp 2014

IMG_2088We head to Kenya April 10th for our fourth annual Art Camp working with the talented students and partners at MCO in the Mathare Valley. We have the same dedicated team of Artist Mentors as last year: Henry Ochieng – photography, LaVonne Dyer – visual art, Jason Dyer – video, Mark Collier – music. The Camp concludes Friday April 18th with a Community Showcase event where students will present their creative achievements. This year we will be working with the older students (15-18 years) and are excited to begin discussions with MCO staff about offering students scholarships, providing help and resources for year-round arts programming, and expanding our partnership to help in other areas of need including teacher salaries.
