Mathare Art Camp 2023

We just wrapped up our thirteenth Art Camp in the Mathare Valley, Kenya in partnership with Mathare Community Outreach! This year’s theme was “I Am God’s Masterpiece” and a beautiful week of creativity ended with a Showcase celebration where students presented their artistic work. The Art Camp was led by our Kenyan business partners and Artist Mentors, and our scholarship students served as assistant Mentors in the six classes offered. The most amazing part is that all the Artist Mentors and assistants were once students at past Art Camps and many of them discovered their talents and career ambitions during that time!

Special thanks to Camp Director Seth Luchemos, Mathare Community Outreach staff Rodgers Ade, Bishop and Magdalene Ogutu, Sally, Leah and the incredible administrative and cooking staff, and to our Kenyan advisor and partner Dotun Modupe. We invite you to enjoy all the sights and sounds of the 2023 Art Camp below.
