Mathare Scholarship and Art Teacher Fund

We are excited to announce that, thanks to your partnership and support, we have established a Scholarship and Art Teacher Fund in the amount of $4,000 as part of our growing partnership with Mathare Community Outreach (MCO) in Nairboi, Kenya. We firmly believe there is incredible talent in the Mathare Valley and the purpose of the Scholarship Fund is to help artistically talented students get a college education and return to MCO to mentor younger students. The purpose of the Art Teacher Fund is to provide inspiring art instruction and opportunities for students during the entire school year. Here is how the funds will be used:

The initial amount of this scholarship fund will be:

2. The Art Teacher Fund will help pay the salary of MCO Art Teacher Henry Aol. This will allow art classes to continue year-round. Henry has been a key part of our Artist Mentor team the last two years and we are looking forward to collaborating with him again during Art Camp 2015.

$2,500/year

We are excited to return to Mathare to lead our fifth annual Art Camp April 13-17, 2015! If you would like to contribute to the Mathare Scholarship and Art Teacher Fund for 2015, you can donate HERE and put “Mathare” in the memo section.
