Artist Mentor Terry Vincent has just started a new graphic design t-shirt making class for students at The Park Place. This new non-profit led by Bekah Simpson is based in South Minneapolis and works to close the opportunity gap in Minnesota. Terry will meet with students on Wednesday mornings during January and at the end of the month The Park Place staff will select a winning t-shirt design to be printed for everyone!
Terry writes, “During the course of a 4 week program I connected with students and taught them fun and easy graphic design elements. Using both drawing utensils, and online design software website Canva, students drew some of their favorite logos, recreated them, and finally created their own logo for The Park Place program. With Park Place not having a logo of their own, students were able to tap into their creativity, and create something special and unique from the ground up! The winning design, chosen by students and staff, will also be made into a T-Shirt!”
