We just wrapped up our 7th annual Art Exploration Program at Hope Academy and once again it was an incredible experience! The program took place during Hope’s summer session June 12 – July 7 and this year’s theme was “Created 2 Create.” For the first two weeks, 11 high school interns worked with 5 Artist Mentors at the IA Studios in video, photography, music, speed painting and theater. Then during weeks 3-4 the interns became the class assistants in those same 5 classes for 75 middle school students. Hope teachers also offered 3 additional class options for 25 more students including animation, creative writing and wood-working. The whole program was capped off with a Showcase Celebration where students presented their creative work for about 225 friends and family members. You can check out some of their creative accomplishments below.
