“What’s Right With You?” Pasadena 2020

2020 Virtual Art Camp Pasadena Video. Enjoy!

It was an honor for Inverted Arts to be a very small part of the 2020 Virtual Art Camp from a distance this year! Congrats to Director Candice McVey and team!

Here’s a recap of the week from Candice:

A week filled with connecting on Zoom through the arts and to each other is just what this summer needed! Kids from 1st Grade all the way through high school seniors discovered what’s right about themselves through painting, singing, drumming, and dancing.

Daily voice warm-ups and lounge twisters with Ms. Juliana made us giggle. By the end of the week she had us all singing “The Greatest”, by Sia.

The younger students explored watercolors and acrylics with Ms. Raquel. They created a beautiful night sky and a nature scene with a special bird.

The older students dug deep into the world of watercolors with Mr. Eric as they learned color theory and all kinds of tricks to try with watercolors, water, salt, paper towels, pencil, cloth, and your paint brush!

Playing percussion from our hearts with Mr. Alan was good for the brain! Rhythm and beats became their very own and were built from simple things from our environment, no fancy instruments needed.

Moving with Ms. Asiah’s dance class was upbeat and fun! Simple steps and moves kept us on our toes and put a smile on our faces.

Thanks so much to the kids, artists, pod leaders, parents and volunteers who worked so hard to make our first Virtual Arts Camp together such a great week!
