Soul Food Connect

By O’Bu Mar’Konash

Imagine a space in time, where a Collective of Artists, Visionaries and Thinkers (of Color) come together over Food, Conversation and Expression, and not just any ol’ food, conversation and expression, but Expression, Conversation and Food that nourishes the Soul!

Imagine a space in time, where a Collective of Artists, Visionaries and Thinkers (of Color) come together to Connect, Collaborate and Create.

Imagine a space in time, where a Collective of Artists, Visionaries and Thinkers (of Color) come together to have real discourse on the issues that both divide and connect us.

Imagine a space in time, where a Collective of Artists, Visionaries and Thinkers (of Color) come together in Soulful Resistance to the Status-Quo, and declare that “Food 4 Soul > $oul 4 Food”.

Imagine a space in time, where a Collective of Artists, Visionaries and Thinkers (of Color) becomes a “Community” of Artists, Visionaries and Thinkers– Educating, Enlightening and Empowering the World around us…

Imagine Soul Food Connect.

The First ever Soul Food Connect happened January 20th, and it was a beautiful start to an idea that took many hands to shape. An idea that, if met with a consistent level of Passion, Love and Soul, could someday serve as a great catalyst for inspiration and even change. I believe Soul Food Connect will be all that it is destined to be, most importantly I believe in the people who will help it be.

With that being said, I want send Special Thanks to Lynn Sledge (My Mama) for graciously cooking that delicious Soul Food. I want to Thank Mark Collier and Inverted Arts for all of their help and guidance throughout the planning and execution of Soul Food Connect. Thank you to our featured artists Sauve, Delphin Starr and Atosha Zerbine.

The Next Soul Food Connect:

Friday March 24, 2017 from 7:30pm-9:30pm
Hosted by Inverted Arts:
